How to Measure Accurately
Measuring Inside Width
- Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the window frame.
- Ensure you measure between the inside surfaces of the frame.
- Record the smallest of the three measurements.
Measuring Inside Height
- Measure the height at the left, center, and right side of the window.
- Measure from the top inside of the frame to the bottom sill.
- Record the largest of the three measurements.
Depth Check
Check the available space inside your window frame. You need at least 2 inches of depth for a standard inside mount installation.

Step-by-Step Installation
Tools Needed:
Power drill, 1/8" drill bit, screwdriver, level, and a pencil.
01. Pre-Drill Hinge Holes
Carefully pre-drill the hinge holes on your shutter panels. This is a critical step to prevent the wood from splitting when you insert the screws.
02. Attach the Hinges
Securely fasten the hinges to the pre-drilled holes on your panels using the provided screws. Ensure they are aligned perfectly for smooth operation.
03. Hang the Frame
Position the shutter frame into the window opening. Use your level to ensure everything is perfectly plumb and square before securing it to the window casing.
04. Mount the Shutters
Lift the panels and drop the hinge pins into the frame hinges. Check the alignment of the panels where they meet in the center.
05. Final Checks
Open and close the shutters and louvers several times. Make small adjustments to the frame screws if necessary to ensure a perfect, smooth operation.
